Effect of phosphorus on root growth, root to shoot ratio, phosphorus uptake and use efficiency in some barley genotypes as influenced by phosphorus fertilization

Root are important organs that supply phosphorus to growing plants. Data related root growth and P- uptake by some barley genotypes limited. A pot experiment was conducted in Faculty of Agriculture Omar –AL-Mukhtar University evaluate the Effected on different varieties during season (2021). The objective this study P-uptake use efficiency under (P) levels. randomized complete block design used a factorial arrangement treatments were replicated three times. P levels 0(low), 50 (medium) 100 (high) mg kg-1 soil, four evaluated. dry weight g plant-1, contribution total plant (%), root/ shoot ratio significantly influenced treatments. Maximum values these parameters achieved with addition kg -1 soil. × interactions for significant, indicating variation pattern rates. Increase can improve from soil lessen loss nutrient plants systems.
